Troubleshooting live text

Fix slow, messy, missing, or disconnected transcript and translation output.

First isolate the fault

Audio input

Is the right microphone selected and showing level?

Source transcript

Does English/source text appear in the admin view?

Translation

Does a selected attendee language receive translated lines?

Does the phone update without refresh?

Display

Does OBS or ProPresenter show the same latest line?

If text is late

  • Use Fast transcription mode first.
  • Close heavy browser tabs on the streaming machine.
  • Check upload bandwidth and Wi-Fi stability.
  • Prefer a direct desk feed over room pickup.
  • If the attendee page is behind but admin is current, refresh the attendee page.

If words are wrong

  • Add preacher names, church names, and biblical terms to boosted words.
  • Reduce room echo and audience noise in the feed.
  • Check that the desk feed is speech-led, not a full room mix.
  • Ask speakers to slow down around names, scripture references, and notices.

If Deepgram disconnects

  • Check that the browser still has microphone permission.
  • Confirm the laptop has not slept or switched networks.
  • Restart the stream from the admin page.
  • If it repeats, check the admin health page for Deepgram configuration.
