About Voco
Built for multilingual churches,
not conference halls.
Voco exists because people were in the room, but could not follow the sermon. The tools on the market were either built for events, too expensive for a weekly church budget, or too complicated for a Sunday morning volunteer to run. We built the tool we could not find.
Why we built Voco
The problem is straightforward: multilingual congregations are growing everywhere — in London, in Houston, in Amsterdam, in São Paulo — and yet most of these churches have no practical way to make the sermon accessible to everyone in the room. The tools that existed fell into two categories: enterprise RSI platforms costing thousands of pounds per event, and consumer apps that required every attendee to download something, create an account, and figure it out mid-service.
Neither of those is a solution for a church with a £30/month tech budget and a volunteer at the sound desk. So we built something that is genuinely simple: one QR code, any phone, any language, no download, no account, no hardware. A church worker can set it up in ten minutes and hand it off to a volunteer. A first-time visitor can scan the code and start reading without asking anyone for help.
The name Vocois Latin for “I call.” The aim is straightforward: help more people hear, follow, and belong. Not as a future promise. This Sunday.
How the technology works
Voco connects to your audio source — a phone microphone, a USB audio interface, or a direct feed from your sound desk — and runs automatic speech recognition on the live input. That transcription is then translated in real time into whichever languages your congregation needs. Attendees access the translated text via a QR code that opens in their phone browser — no app download, no login.
Speech recognition
Enterprise-grade ASR trained on a wide range of accents and speaker styles. Works with clear pulpit audio; a direct sound-desk feed gives the best results.
Neural translation
Translation runs in real time, language by language, tuned for your congregation via Voco's glossary — which lets you boost accuracy for your pastor's name, church vocabulary, and theological terms.
WiFi backfill
If an attendee loses WiFi connection mid-sermon, Voco stores the missed transcript and pushes it to their phone when they reconnect — so they never lose the thread.
Voco integrates natively with ProPresenter and OBS Studio so the QR code can be projected directly from your existing presentation workflow — no extra screens or laptops required.
The churches we serve
Voco is designed for weekly church use, not one-off events. The churches that benefit most are those with regular multilingual congregations — diaspora communities where English-language services include significant numbers of first-generation immigrants, international students, or visitors whose heart language is not English.
Diaspora churches serving East African, West African, South Asian, and South-East Asian communities
Iranian and Arabic-speaking congregations with Persian or Arabic-dominant first-generation members
International churches in European cities serving multinational congregations
UK and US churches welcoming refugee communities from Ukraine, Somalia, Afghanistan, and beyond
Spanish and Portuguese-speaking Latino and Brazilian diaspora churches
Bilingual congregations running parallel services or integrated multilingual worship
How we handle your data
Churches need to trust the tools they bring into Sunday services. We take that seriously.
No recordings stored
Voco transcribes audio in real time and does not store audio recordings. Sermon transcripts are retained for the duration of your active session and then cleared. We do not use your sermon content to train AI models.
No attendee data collected
Congregation members who scan the QR code do not create accounts, enter personal data, or have their usage tracked. The QR code session is anonymous by design.
GDPR-compliant infrastructure
Voco is built on infrastructure hosted in EU data centres. All data in transit is encrypted. Our privacy policy is written in plain language — not in legal boilerplate designed to obscure what we actually do.
Transparent pricing, no lock-in
No annual contracts. No seat pricing that punishes a growing church. Cancel any time. We want to earn your business every week.
Our commitments
Honest pricing
Two simple plans — £8/week (Starter) and £15/week (Pro), billed monthly. No per-attendee pricing. No hidden language add-ons. The price you see is the price you pay.
Genuine accuracy
We do not hide translation quality issues. We tell you which language pairs perform best, and our glossary tool exists precisely to address the accuracy gaps that AI translation still has in church contexts.
Built for real Sundays
Features are designed for the actual conditions of a church service: variable WiFi, fast-talking preachers, unusual theological vocabulary, and a sound desk that's run by a volunteer.
Get in touch
We answer every email, usually same day. If you have a question about your congregation's specific language needs, pricing, audio setup, or anything else — just ask.
