ProPresenter live translation — how to add captions via Voco

What you need

• A Voco Church plan subscription (OBS and ProPresenter overlays are included)
• A current, supported ProPresenter installation that can render a web page in the intended screen or stage layout
• A live Voco service and the display URL for the required output language

Step-by-step ProPresenter setup

1. 1Connect sermon audio firstStart a Voco service and select the microphone or sound-desk input. Check the source transcript and a translated reader before adding a display to ProPresenter. The display link shows captions; it does not send your microphone audio to Voco.
2. 2Get your display URL from VocoOpen Displays in your Voco dashboard. Choose a display style and output language, check the preview, then copy the display link. If no church link is configured, set it in Settings first.
3. 3Add a web page objectIn the editor for the intended ProPresenter screen or stage layout, add an object filled with a web page and paste the Voco display URL. Labels vary by release; follow the current manual for your installed version.
4. 4Position the caption areaSize the object as a readable lower third or dedicated caption region and keep it inside the safe area of the actual output.
5. 5Choose visibility deliberatelyDecide which looks, layouts, or cues should show the caption object. Do not assume an editor preview proves it appears on every audience, stage, or stream output.
6. 6Test the full outputStart Voco, speak through the real microphone, and inspect the physical projector or confidence monitor from the back of the room. Also check any captured livestream output separately.

Can the livestream laptop run Voco too?

It may be able to, provided the browser can access the intended audio input while the streaming software is running. A connected ATEM is not proof that its audio appears as a browser microphone. Select the actual input in Voco, run the stream and captions together, then check sound levels, caption delivery and laptop performance. Use a separate capture device if the input cannot be shared reliably or the machine struggles.

Multi-language captions

Voco supports separate overlay URLs per output language — you can display Spanish captions on Screen 1 and Mandarin on Screen 2, for example. Each language has its own Web Item URL in the Voco dashboard.

Troubleshooting

• If there is no source transcript in Voco, check microphone permission, the selected input and the audio feed before changing ProPresenter.
• If Voco has text but the screen is blank, open the copied display URL in a browser. Check the church link and language, then check the web-page object and the active ProPresenter output layout.
• If captions appear in a browser but not on the projector or stream, check the relevant ProPresenter screen, Look and output routing. An editor preview does not prove that output is live.
• If text is too small, adjust the caption style in Displays and test readability from the back of the room.
• If captions fall behind, compare the attendee reader and display during a full rehearsal. Measure from the spoken phrase rather than assuming a fixed number of sentences.

Current ProPresenter reference

Renewed Vision's current support library and installed manual are authoritative for the web-page object, Looks, and screen configuration in your release. Voco supplies a normal display URL; ProPresenter controls where that page is rendered.
