Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Voco platform (“Service”) provided by Voco Ltd (“Voco”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

“You” refers to the church, organisation, or individual that has registered an admin account.

Voco provides real-time speech-to-text transcription and translation of live spoken content (primarily sermons and religious services), delivered to attendee devices via web browser. The Service includes:

• An admin dashboard for managing events, languages, and billing
• A real-time attendee reader accessible via QR code or direct URL
• Transcript storage for up to 90 days per event

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not make material changes that degrade core functionality without at least 14 days' notice to admin users.

To use Voco as an admin, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old or have the authority to bind your organisation
• Provide accurate information during sign-up
• Maintain the security of your magic link authentication

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@voco.church if you suspect unauthorised access.

Voco is offered on a weekly subscription basis. Current plans and pricing are displayed on our pricing page and within your account settings.

• Free trial. New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to the Text plan. No credit card is required to start the trial.
• Billing. After the trial, a valid payment method is required to continue. Subscriptions are billed weekly in advance. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record. All applicable taxes (including UK and EU VAT) are calculated and remitted by Lemon Squeezy. Your billing relationship for payment purposes is with Lemon Squeezy.
• Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused days.
• Refunds. If you experience a significant service failure attributable to Voco, contact us within 7 days and we will consider a pro-rata refund at our discretion.
• Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, or promotes hatred or violence
• Infringe any intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform in bulk
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written consent from Voco
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Use the Service for any purpose other than live audio translation in religious or non-profit community settings

Voco is designed for religious services. Commercial use outside of a church or community setting requires written agreement. Contact us to discuss.

You retain full ownership of all content you transmit through the Service, including sermon audio, transcripts, and translations (“Your Content”).

You grant Voco a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store Your Content solely to deliver the Service as described. We do not use Your Content to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to transmit any content processed through the Service (e.g. that your preacher has consented to live transcription).

The Voco platform, brand, and technology are owned by Voco Ltd and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the Voco name, logo, or trademarks without prior written consent.

Speech-to-text and machine translation are imperfect technologies. Voco makes no warranty that transcripts or translations will be free from errors, omissions, or mistranslations. You are solely responsible for reviewing translated content and for any decisions made based on it.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Voco's total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid to Voco in the 90 days preceding the claim.

Voco is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voco, its officers, and employees from any claims, damages, and costs arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or used the Service to transmit illegal content. On termination, your access ceases and Your Content will be deleted within 30 days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before initiating formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us at hello@voco.church so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify admin users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
