What is a church translation system?

A church translation system helps people follow the sermon in another language while the service is happening. Older systems usually meant interpreter booths, receiver packs, or headsets. Voco keeps the workflow simpler: your team captures the sermon audio once, shows a QR code, and attendees read live translation on their own phones in 155+ languages. That means no attendee app, no account, and no hardware queue at the back of church.

How does church translation work?

The church starts a live session from the dashboard and uses either a laptop microphone, phone microphone, or sound-desk feed as the audio source. Voco turns that speech into live text and translation, then sends it to the congregation reader. Attendees scan the QR code, choose their language, and follow the message in real time. A cleaner sound-desk feed usually improves accuracy, but you can test the whole workflow with equipment you already own.

How much does church translation cost?

Voco starts at £6 per week for Starter, which is designed for one main weekly service with one or two regular language groups. The Church plan is £12 per week for a normal church week with multiple Sunday services, the odd midweek, all 155+ languages, screens, and a small team. Pro is £22 per week for busier churches using translation across regular midweek meetings, small groups, events, and more team members.

Do I need special equipment for church translation?

No. You can test Voco with a phone or laptop microphone, and many churches later connect a direct feed from the sound desk for better accuracy. Dedicated translation receivers, headsets, and interpreter booths are not required. If your church already has a microphone, internet connection, and a screen or printed QR code, you have enough to run a realistic first test this Sunday.
