Attendee reader and languages

How attendees choose languages, change reading settings, and stay connected.

Language selection

Attendees can choose from the full supported language list. Voco only translates into languages with active listeners, so availability does not mean every language costs money at once.

Simple plans have a normal usage expectation of one or two regularly used language groups. The reader itself does not hard-lock a person who needs another language during a service.

1

Scan QR

Attendee opens the church or event link in their browser.

2

Choose language

They search or select the language they need.

3

Read live

New translated lines arrive as the sermon continues.

4

Adjust display

They can tune text size, theme, and scrollback for readability.

Reading controls

  • Attendees can adjust text size for readability.
  • Dark mode and light mode should be treated as accessibility preferences.
  • The reader should remain stable while new text arrives and allow scrollback when someone wants to reread a line.

Connection behavior

If a phone briefly disconnects, Voco backfills recent transcript lines when the connection resumes. If the page still says waiting while the admin transcript is live, refresh the attendee page and reselect the language.
