Translate your church service into Kurdish Sorani
کوردی سۆرانی
Sorani, also called Central Kurdish, is used mainly by Kurds from Iraq and Iran and is not interchangeable with Kurmanji. Voco offers Sorani as its own right-to-left attendee language so a church can make both Kurdish varieties available without asking one group to settle for the other.

The Kurdish (Sorani)-speaking diaspora
Kurdish communities are well established in London, particularly Haringey, Hackney and around Dalston, as well as Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow. Sorani is especially relevant for families from Iraqi Kurdistan and western Iran; many Kurds from Turkey and Syria instead use Kurmanji. In the US, Sorani-speaking communities are found around Nashville, San Diego and parts of Virginia.
Bible availability in Kurdish (Sorani)
The Kurdish Sorani Standard Bible, published by Biblica in Arabic script in 2017, was the first complete Bible in Sorani. Church Mission Society translators spent nearly three decades on the project. That established text gives a fluent reviewer a clear reference point for names and theological language when checking live output.
Script and display notes
Sorani normally uses an Arabic-derived script written right to left. Kurmanji is commonly written in a Latin alphabet. Voco treats them as separate choices and applies RTL layout only to Sorani.
Using Voco for Kurdish (Sorani) church translation
Kurdish believers may attend international evangelical churches, diaspora fellowships or historic Middle Eastern churches, and some come from Muslim or Yazidi family backgrounds. A machine-generated sermon channel can widen ordinary access, but sensitive discipleship, prayer ministry and pastoral care still need a trusted human who understands the person's language and circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sorani the same as Kurmanji?
No. They are major Kurdish varieties with different regional use and commonly different scripts. Ask which language and writing system the person reads; Voco lists both separately.
Does Voco render Sorani correctly?
Yes. Sorani is configured as right-to-left using its official language code. Test punctuation, names and font size on a real attendee phone before Sunday.
Will it use the wording of the Kurdish Sorani Standard Bible?
Live prose is machine translated, not automatically replaced with that Bible's wording in every sentence. Use Voco's scripture and glossary controls, then have a Sorani reader compare key passages with the Biblica KSS text.
