Translate your church service into Ga
Ga
Ga is the historic language of Accra and the Ga people, and it should not be folded into Twi simply because both are spoken in Ghana. Voco gives Ga its own attendee channel so a church can offer Ga, Ewe, Twi and English simultaneously.

The Ga-speaking diaspora
Ghanaian diaspora communities are prominent across London and several UK cities. A specifically Ga-Dangme worship tradition is visible at St Andrew's United Reformed Church in Ealing, whose Ghanaian fellowship holds monthly Ga-Dangme worship. Ga-speaking families may also attend Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal and Seventh-day Adventist congregations without a dedicated language service.
Bible availability in Ga
The Bible Society of Ghana is one of the principal publishers and translation organisations for Ghanaian-language Scripture, including Ga resources. Churches should confirm the edition and orthography used locally, especially where Ga and Dangme speakers worship together.
Script and display notes
Ga uses a Latin-based alphabet with additional characters including ɛ, ɔ and ŋ. Browser output uses Unicode; check projectors and copied documents with a font that covers the full alphabet.
Using Voco for Ga church translation
Ga Christian history includes Presbyterian and Methodist mission traditions, alongside Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal and independent churches. Ga-Dangme is often used as a community label, but Ga and Dangme are distinct languages. Voco currently lists Ga; do not promise that Ga output is a substitute for Dangme without a fluent review.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ga the same as Twi?
No. They are separate Ghanaian languages. Many people are multilingual, but a church should ask which language a person reads most naturally rather than defaulting to Twi.
Is Ga the same as Dangme?
No. They are related Ga-Dangme languages but distinct. Voco's Ga option should be tested with Ga speakers and not presented as verified Dangme translation.
Will Ga letters work on phones and screens?
Yes, with modern Unicode fonts. Test ɛ, ɔ and ŋ on attendee phones, your presentation system and exported transcripts before relying on the setup live.
