The Czech / Slovak-speaking diaspora

Czech and Slovak communities in the UK are found across London, Birmingham, Manchester, and many smaller cities. Many arrived post-2004 as workers and have built permanent lives in the UK, raising families in English while remaining more comfortable in their mother tongue for faith and teaching. Czech and Slovak evangelical traditions are strong relative to broader post-communist Europe — particularly among Baptist, Brethren, and charismatic church communities. Czech has the historic Bible Kralická (1613) and the Czech Ecumenical Translation (ČEP, 1979). Slovak has the Roháček Translation and the Ekumenický preklad (EP). Both languages have active evangelical Bible literacy communities.
